This is Gunter Wand's last recording. It also has left his embryonic second Beethoven symphonies cycle with the NDR SO (all live recordings) unfinished: only Nos. 1 to 6 have been recorded. How I wish I could have his Choral in this second cycle.The lively reading belies his grand age.
