Bruckner Fourths (1874 version)

With the arrival of 2 new recordings of the 1874 version of Bruckner 4th -- Simone Young's and Nagano's -- it is time to search my cabinet for the old ones for a little comparison. Well it takes time.

Sorry Savio, please wait for a while. The review will be posted later.

  1. can u give a brief discription of Rozhdestvensky's bruckner? Venezia is going to reissue his bruckner recordings which are divided into two boxsets with irresistible price.

  2. Bearing in mind the risk of oversimplification and generalization, I'd say Rozhdestvensky speaks Bruckner's musical language in a Russian accent, and painting Bruckner's musical landscape in Russian colours and shadings. Quite amusing in fact. More will be mentioned in my post of these 1874 version recordings.
